Our client, a large financial services organization, is seeking an experienced Project Manager for an onsite, 6-month contract position in Urbandale, Iowa. You can onboard as a W2 employee. No subcontracting.
Position Overview:
The selected candidate will independently manage two key projects within the client s FP&A and accounting functions. This role requires a strong executive presence and the ability to develop and maintain robust stakeholder relationships. Ideal candidates will have a solid background in Finance (FP&A) and Accounting and will be responsible for preparing detailed decks for FP&A teams. A PMP certification is highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage complex, high-visibility projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery with a strong emphasis on client satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including resources, scope, schedule, cost, assumptions, and dependencies, for large-scale initiatives.
- Proactively identify and communicate scope changes, adjusting project plans as needed to mitigate potential impacts on assignments.
- Serve as the first point of contact for project risks and exposures, initiating quick responses and potential solutions.
- Collaborate closely with senior internal and client executives, coordinating with global subject matter experts as needed.
- Negotiate resources and resolve priority conflicts to maintain project alignment and effectiveness.
- Explore and implement complex solutions for intricate business requirements.
- Act as a subject matter expert in the project s functional area and domain, while leveraging expertise in project planning tools.
- Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring adherence to departmental standards, and mentor junior team members to enhance team competency.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience: At least 10 years in project management, ideally in financial services, with strong FP&A and accounting exposure.
- Education: Bachelor s degree in a relevant field.
- Skills: Proficiency in developing project plans and adjusting for risks, changes, and stakeholder needs. Ability to communicate complex project details to senior management. Deck preparation, stakeholder management.
- Preferred: PMP certification; experience preparing presentations for FP&A teams.
