Commodities Software Engineer - Houston- Tech-Driven Prop Trading Firm

My client is a leading tech-driven prop trading firm, trading their own capital across a broad range of asset classes, instruments and strategies in markets worldwide. They are looking for world-class Python engineers to join the Commodities trading group to build and develop reliable ETL pipelines for the ingestion, management, and analysis of datasets used by analysts and traders.

In this role, you will join a small talented team working closely with senior data engineers and key stakeholders across both greenfield and established projects. Your first priority will be getting data to the analysts; going forward there will be opportunities to help design and build the core data infrastructure used across the group.

Requirements

• Solid Commodities experience
• Very strong programming experience: Python preferred, familiarity with other languages desirable
• Detail-oriented self-starter, with outstanding communication skills
• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or other numerate subject

Desirable

• Experience in the Trading/Finance industry (ideally US Gas)
• Relational databases experience (Postgres preferred)
