Location: Service Territory - Chicago, IL
Shift: Standard Business Hours, M - F
Contract Duration: 2 years, with potential for long-term opportunities

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager (Mid-Level) to join our team located in Chicago, IL. In this role, you ll manage a portfolio of over 25 Distributed Energy Resources (DER) Interconnection projects, with a primary focus on community solar projects that may involve feeder line extensions and substation upgrades. This position requires a strong understanding of utility project management and will play a critical role in balancing resource constraints with customer schedule and cost requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the lifecycle of multiple projects, from initiation, scope definition, and design through to construction and closeout.
Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
Manage budgets, monitor financial forecasting, and ensure adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley accounting principles.
Communicate project status, risks, and updates clearly to stakeholders and senior management.
Coordinate project teams and manage external partner relationships to ensure seamless project execution.
Conduct and lead project meetings to drive progress and maintain documentation, including schedules and reports.
Support the development and implementation of project management best practices across the organization.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, or Construction Engineering preferred); other degrees may be considered with strong Utility PM experience (5+ years - Required).
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, with a strong focus on medium voltage utility projects (12kV - 69KV).
Proficient in reading electrical prints and understanding complex project requirements.
Knowledge of real estate easement, zoning, and permitting processes.
Experience managing financial forecasts, budgets, and understanding Sarbanes-Oxley accounting principles.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Asset Suite 8.
Experience with project management software and tools.
PMP Certification required for all Project Management roles.
Requirements:
Access to a vehicle for on-site visits or office work at least 3 days per week within the service territory.
Commitment to the service area for project site accessibility Monday through Friday.
Preferred Qualifications:
Long-term career interest in progressing within our organization as a Project Manager.
Familiarity with community solar project requirements and experience managing contractual relationships with customers and developers.
