Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a Senior Network Specialist to be based in the Chicagoland market with substantial experience in managing enterprise-level networks. This role involves designing, implementing, and overseeing global network, security, and cloud infrastructure to enhance IT operations and the customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, deploy, and support global network and security solutions across both cloud and on-prem environments.
- Install and manage network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless systems.
- Optimize, monitor, update, and patch network devices to ensure peak performance.
- Manage vendor relationships for network services and ensure compliance with standards such as GDPR and ITAR.
- Drive operational excellence using ITIL frameworks, focusing on incident, change, and problem management, as well as continuity and capacity planning.
- Collaborate with global teams to deliver IT solutions aligned with business objectives.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience managing large-scale, global networks, including LAN/WAN security.
- Strong background in designing and deploying network security solutions with tools like Juniper SRX, Fortinet firewalls, Ruckus switches, ZTNA, client VPNs, and WAN optimization.
- Demonstrated experience in cloud security.
- Familiarity with security products, including ForcePoint, Qualys, Vectra, Dragos, FortiNAC, and WAN optimization tools.
- Bachelor s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (Master s degree preferred).
- Certifications like CISSP or CISM are advantageous.
