Job Title: Performance Testing Engineer - Contract to Hire (Hybrid, Pittsburgh)
W2 CONTRACT ONLY

Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Performance Testing Engineer with a strong background in performance testing and engineering to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis in Pittsburgh. This role requires expertise in performance testing tools and methodologies, particularly with Apache JMeter and HP LoadRunner/Performance Center. This is a hybrid position with potential for future leadership opportunities, offering a chance to drive and optimize performance testing solutions.

Industry Background
This role supports a Performance Testing and Engineering environment. The ideal candidate will have multiple years of hands-on experience as a performance tester or performance engineer. Familiarity with HP LoadRunner/Performance Center is highly preferred.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with QA Analysts, Developers, and other team members to ensure comprehensive testing coverage, reliability, and quality of the system.
  • Analyze testing requirements, develop and execute testing strategies and plans.
  • Review and approve test plans, scenarios, scripts, and procedures, addressing areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, and usability.
  • Ensure application documentation is complete, maintained, and updated promptly.
  • Deliver effective testing solutions by meeting project milestones, adhering to quality standards, and supporting project deliverables.

Technical Skills Required

  • Expertise in Apache JMeter and HP Performance Center.
  • Experience with Dynatrace for application monitoring (or comparable tools).
  • Strong skills in performance testing scripting, analysis, and recommendation (with experience in Performance Center or similar tools).

Preferred Skills

  • Performance engineering background.
  • Familiarity with Jira or similar project management tools.

Soft Skills

  • Effective team player with strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Proficiency in documenting and communicating technical reports to business stakeholders.
