- You will serve as the Government Port Engineer (GPE) for assigned vessels, including those powered by steam and/or diesel and/or gas turbine and includes responsibility for the life cycle management of those ships.
- You will manage the ships Life Cycle Plan by reviewing, planning, and coordinating the maintenance, repair, and alteration activities requiring industrial assistance for assigned ships.
- You will serve as technical point of contact for issues related to shipboard readiness and maintenance and repair.
- You will perform field inspections of shipyards to determine maintenance capabilities in advance of ship maintenance contract awards.
- You will determine acceptability and technically approves OPCO plans, work items and cost estimates for maintenance and repair and ship alteration work for assigned ships.
- You will direct and coordinate development of root cause analysis of all types of shipboard equipment and systems failures including main and auxiliary machinery.
Starting at $97,376 Per Year (GS 12-13)
