About Short Story:
Short Story is a fast-growing startup creating the premier personal styling service for petite women.. We are looking for talented and experienced Frontend Engineers to join our engineering team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in designing, developing, and maintaining our frontend systems, ensuring responsiveness, standardization, and rapid iteration. Some areas you will be responsible for include:
Customer Portal (account management, preferences, checkout workflows)
Warehouse management system
Order management system
Our proprietary styling system
What You ll Do:
Develop and maintain high-quality and responsive web applications using NextJS, ReactJS, and React-Query
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and backend engineers, to understand requirements and deliver end-to-end solutions
A/B Test various designs to optimize user experience
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and interns, promoting best practices and fostering a culture of continuous learning
Actively participate in code reviews, ensuring code quality, maintainability, and adherence to coding standards
Implement designs using Tailwind CSS, ensuring compatibility across various devices and browsers
Deploy and manage applications on Netlify, ensuring smooth and reliable deployments
Work closely with designers, using Figma to translate design mockups into pixel-perfect, interactive user interfaces
What We Are Looking For:
5+ years of professional experience in frontend development using ReactJS and related technologies
Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, with a deep understanding of modern web standards and best practices
Extensive experience with NextJS, ReactJS, Typescript, and a proven track record of building scalable and maintainable applications
Familiarity with Tailwind CSS and experience in creating responsive and visually appealing user interfaces
Solid understanding of Git, Github, and experience with collaborative development workflows
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes, preferably using Github Actions and Netlify
Ability to work with Figma and translate design mockups into functional web components
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of server-side rendering (SSR) and static site generation (SSG) techniques
Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, or Cypress
Contributions to open-source projects or personal projects showcasing your frontend development skills
