As a Personnel Security Specialist (Quality Assurance and Training Coordinator), you will:

  • Serve as a senior personnel security specialist with Naval Reactors with responsibility for planning, developing, and evaluating the training program.
  • Implement a major segment of a national personnel security program that affects personnel security/access determinations for a variety of national defense and nuclear security programs, organizations and industrial contractor operations with the Naval Reactors (NR) Program.
  • Provide authoritative technical guidance and advisory assistance to a variety of senior program office and site managers, M&O contractors, and representatives of other government agencies, on the interpretation and application of DOE, DOD and national security policies, regulations, executive orders, standards, and procedures.
  • Responsible for adjudicating personnel security cases of outstanding difficulty, investigating and analyzing a variety of highly sensitive, complex and controversial personnel security problems which typically involve individuals holding high level positions with access to highly sensitive programs of critical importance to national security.
  • Plan, organize, and direct all aspects of the Personnel Security both quality assurance and consistency program and the training and development program.
  • Review, analyze, and assess existing or proposed security policies and objectives to determine impact on current NR personnel security policies and operations in order to evaluate the impact on NR personnel security operations and advise senior security program managers.
