  • Plans and coordinates the efforts of engineering teams engaged in development of Electrical Power Systems design, analysis and trades of spacecraft power bus, solar array, and battery; provides technical direction for the complete system development.
  • Plans and evaluates electrical power system for projects, programs, proposals, mission studies, and research/development pertaining to relevant novel technologies device driver technologies; presents technology management solutions.
  • Directs the planning, specification, manufacturing, and procurement of unique and leading-edge technology for the development of direct or indirect energy conservation storage devices and power systems.
  • Serves as a technical expert and lead engineer in planning and implementing specialized power conversion, conditioning, and distribution for flight spacecraft Electrical Power System electronics.
  • Evaluates design requirements, trades, and limitations of spacecraft Electrical Power Systems based on available mission parameters.
  • Reviews, advises, and conducts technical analysis and development studies in support of major Science programs and technology driven requirements.
  • Oversees contractor activities and acts as a technical specialist and/or Contracting Officer Representative in Power System development and similar Internal Research and Developments (IRAD).
  • Participates as Electrical Power Systems Subject Matter Expert at internal, agency, national or international teams or reviews for programs, projects, anomaly investigation, failure review boards, technical assessments, and mission support as needed.
