Network Engineer

This individual will play a pivotal role in developing innovative and effective solutions for our DoD customers within the IC sector.

Role Overview

The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure enterprise network solutions. This role emphasizes translating customer requirements into effective technical solutions, ensuring network security, and leveraging expertise in Cisco technologies. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support mission-critical projects and maintain operational excellence.

Primary Duties

• Translate customer requirements into enterprise network solutions.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Cisco network engineering with a focus on network security.
• Configure and manage Network Access Control (NAC) platforms.
• Troubleshoot and optimize network protocols, including TCP/IP stack and OSI model.
• Manage firewall software, such as Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD).
• Communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Minimum of 16 years' experience in network engineering.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related discipline (preferred).
• Proven expertise in Cisco network engineering with a focus on network security.
• Strong proficiency in NAC platforms.
• In-depth knowledge of network protocols, TCP/IP stack, and OSI model.
• Experience with firewall management software, such as Cisco FTD.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with Cisco Identity Service Engine (ISE) for NAC management.
• Industry certifications such as CCNA Security, CCNP Security, or REDHAT Certified Architect (RHCA).
• Proficiency in Linux Operating Systems and Python scripting.
• Experience with extending on-premise networks to cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, Oracle, and Google.
• Knowledge of state-of-the-art systems engineering principles and network design concepts.
• Broad understanding of various network technologies and solutions architectures.
