Job Summary:

Job Summary:
As a Software Packaging Engineer, you will be an automation specialist who will manage our applications across the enterprise using technologies like MSI, PowerShell scripts, Microsoft Configuration Manager, Microsoft Intune, JAMF and Microsoft MSIX. It is expected that the candidate understands the objectives of packaging and can explain technologies that limit "Windows Rot" and "DLL Hell."
Major Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of application delivery best practices, standards, and methodologies of packaging on both Windows and Mac OS.
- Advanced level troubleshooting skills and root cause analysis of the Desktop environment using Sysinternals Suite.
- Create documentation of the automation process and the application package details.
- Collaborate with other application packagers, developers, and IT staff to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of applications. Train and guide junior packagers when possible.
- Create and maintain processes through automation and associated documentation.
- Develop utilities to streamline standards and deployment methodologies.
- Provide in-house solutions for automating, streamlining, and querying environment and desktop environment data.
- 5-8 years of related Software Packaging experience in the following skills/products
- MSIX Packaging
- Windows 10 and 11
- Strong programming knowledge of Bash, Python, and PowerShell.
- Design, creation and workflow design of Group Policy Objects (GPO) managing the security and configuration of the windows and desktop platforms.
- In-depth knowledge of the registry and file system security.
- Design standards for user persona management and transition of operational roles. Identify companywide configuration and personal user information when required.
- Competent in Desktop Virtualization Technologies, Application Layering and Application Virtualization technologies as well as Application Profiling Tools.
- A proven track record of technical experience with Windows Desktop & Server Operating Systems, Active Directory.
- Strong understanding of networking, infrastructure and client-side architectures, software lifecycle, and system design
