Sr. Network Engineer

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Sr. Network Engineer Consultant with our client in the transportation industry in their Atlanta, GA location. This is a 12 + month contract position.

Seeking a Sr. Network Engineer Consultant

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for designing, testing, implementing, and supporting network infrastructure
• Provide consultation and direct technical support in life cycle planning, problem management, integration, and network configuration
• Support and administer firewall environments in line with IT security policy
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations
• Report network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information and managing projects
• Perform basic configuration of firewalls
• Provide remote support of on-site engineers and end users/customers during installation
• Provide remote troubleshooting and fault finding if issues occur upon initial installation
• Communicates with customers via email and phone for initial requirement capture
• Undertake data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments, using information from multiple sources
• Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access
• Upgrade data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases
• Configure routing and switching equipment
• Configure hosted IP voice services
• Perform capacity management and auditing of IP addressing and hosted devices within data centers
• Establish networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation, defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards
• Design and implement new solutions and improves resilience of current environment
• Maximize network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating with network architects on network optimization
• Communicate with project management teams, third-line engineers and service desk engineers on a regular basis

Requirements:

• 6+ years of experience
