Typical Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Translating business requirements into technical specifications, define scopes, develops project charters, roles and responsibilities, data streams, workflows and documentation.
  • Work closely with the Department's Information System's technical teams as well as Program team leads to understand the business case.
  • Understand existing Vendor contracts, and/or creating new contracts to effectively implement work required to fulfill the Department's business needs in a timely manner
  • Apply a range of project valuation and prioritization techniques
  • Analyze existing, ongoing and anticipated Risks and present solutions to mitigate any deviations by working with all Stakeholders
  • Apply a sequencing logic in order to schedule projects within constraints
  • Manage portfolio risks and benefits and understand how this differs from project risk and benefits management
  • Apply portfolio data analytics and visualization techniques
  • Understand how Agile projects and project portfolio management can work together
  • Understand the essentials of good portfolio governance
  • Apply best practices for project portfolio management
  • Provide solutions to business and technical issues in compliance with all local, state/federal regulations and Client policies.
  • Work with available resources to ensure that system enhancements follow the appropriate IT guidelines.
  • Manage change requests or requests for enhancements effectively.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere with a culture of accomplishments as well as respect for others.


Other Job Duties:

  • Collaborate with vendors and develop training strategies where applicable.
  • Provide technical support in different areas of the system as needed and work together with other support team members & specialists.
  • Work with vendors/consultants in documentations needed.
  • Identify and documents processes/systems issues and suggest improvements.
  • Prepare status reports consistently as needed by key players and management.
  • Other IT-related duties in other projects, as needed.
