YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:

The Director of Risk - ERM, Insurance & Surety reports to the VP of Risk, General Counsel and is responsible for overall management of the Company's ERM, insurance and surety programs, with a concentration on risk identification, risk transfer and risk retention techniques. Working closely with operations throughout all phases of construction projects, as well as department leaders heading the Company's support groups such as finance, safety, procurement, and technology, you will lead the identification, communication, measurement, and management of Company-wide risk.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Oversee the ERM process and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

  • Monitor and analyze risks with the Company's business units and report on these risks to the Executive Leadership Team.

  • Manage day-to-day interaction between all project participants, brokers and insurers related to risk management, insurance, and surety issues.

  • Maintain a strong relationship with insurance brokerage partners to ensure the efficiency of insurance program administration functions, program invoicing, policy issuance, wrap administration and certificate of insurance requests.

  • Manage all aspects of contract review as relates to insurance and bonds issues, including coordination of contract review with legal.Analyze and understand insurable risks and potential risk mitigation opportunities; interact with operational groups to ensure coordination between project activities, exposures, and appropriate insurance coverage.

  • Review, initiate and direct the appropriate insurance coverage and pricing for all new bids and projects.

  • Work directly with surety company(s) to facilitate timely issuance and delivery of project-specific performance and payment bonds as needed for new projects.

  • Assist with compilation and development of data for annual renewal of corporate program, including management of brokers, approval of submissions, and negotiation of terms and premiums.

  • Manage team that supports the Risk-ERM, Insurance and Surety.

  • Proactive insurance vendor management by developing service standards, KPIs, and regular performance assessments.

  • Maintain knowledge of trends in the construction insurance industry, including thorough working knowledge of insurance products, coverage, and pricing.

  • Assist with budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, including the analysis for annual insurance premiums, financial performance of insurance programs, and determination of billing rates and premium allocations.

  • Work closely with Learning and Development to identify educational needs, and assist with presentations and sessions focused on insurance, surety, and risk issues.

  • Work with client/owner insurance representatives to ensure proper placement and coordination of any project specific insurance policies

WHAT YOU BRING TO US:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.

  • 10 plus years of Insurance, Risk Management, and Surety broker experience.

  • Three plus years of management experience leading teams of three or more direct reports.

  • Construction finance/accounting experience a plus.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Effective time management skills

TRAVEL:
  • Up to 20% as needed

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • General work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning

  • Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.

Pay Range

$202,800.00-$266,100.00 Annual

The pay range for this role is what we expect to pay for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this job description. Candidate's pay can vary based on location, job-related experience, skills, and education.
