Position: Business Intelligence Specialist

Job Summary: The Business Intelligence Specialist prepares the data infrastructure to be analyzed and maintains data movement jobs using Extract, Transfer, Load (ETL) tools or general programming languages. Selects the optimum method for the situation and develops scalable and reliable solutions. Creates data warehouses used for reporting or analysis. Ensures the delivery of data on time, accurately and securely. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, business acumen, and excellent communication skills to analyze data, create reports, and work with various stakeholders to understand their data needs. This position reports to Vice President of Information Technology

Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Organizes data points, develops methods for data quality, database design and validation, and data exchange.
• Uses tools such as query and scripting languages, APIs, data mining, data modeling, data marts, data visualization, and other data analytics technologies to produce insightful information to the business.
• Set the overarching BI and analytics strategy and oversee how data warehouses, data models, schemas and other data architecture components support the organization's information needs.
• Build analytical data models, manage data integration, data preparation, and support the business use of data.
• Create and maintain documentation that includes the design, requirements, schemas, data structures, data models, among others. Responsible for the design, development, and implementation of data aggregation and reporting architecture.
• Responsible for metadata management, data governance and quality management to deliver a comprehensive and impactful capability and framework that includes standards, practices, processes, tools, and infrastructures.
• Collaborates with data stewards and data and application owners to improve the quality, availability and usability of enterprise data assets and related metadata.
• Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.
• Work closely with business units to understand their data needs and deliver actionable insights.

Required Experience/Certifications:

• Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a BI analyst role or a combination of experience and education.
• Valid State of Ohio Driver's License and insurance
• Must pass BCI check, all Corporate Compliance checks, and employment drug screen.

Desired Experience/Certifications:

• Master s Degree in a related field.
• Working experience with SQL, Power BI, and Tableau.
• Pentaho and/or Locher, and/or Oracle experience a plus.
