Job Title: Level 1 Security Install Technician

Location:

Northern Virginia (NOVA) and Washington, DC area

Job Summary:

The Level 1 Security Install Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of security systems, including access control, surveillance, and alarm systems. This role requires a basic understanding of low voltage electronic security components and the ability to work under the supervision of senior technicians or project managers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation: Install cabling, access control systems, surveillance cameras, and alarm systems.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of security systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Testing: Conduct tests to verify the functionality of installed systems and identify any issues.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs and provide technical support.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies during installations and maintenance activities.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED; technical certificate preferred.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of relevant work experience in security system installation and maintenance.
  • Skills: Basic knowledge of IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), ACS (Access Control Systems), and CCTV (Closed-Circuit Television) systems.
  • Certifications: Lenel and DMP certifications are a plus; current DCJS registration required.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, climb ladders, and work in various environmental conditions.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Time Management: Excellent organizational and time management skills.
