We are accountable to the government through an Administrative Agreement with the Minister of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement. We value flexibility and have adopted a hybrid work model whereby employees use a combination of working remotely 2 days a week and in the office for 3 days.

Purpose of position

The IT Administrator, reporting to the Director of IT and Cybersecurity, manages and supports the organisation's cloud-based IT infrastructure, office telecom services, staff devices, and provides staff support per best practices. This role ensures smooth business operations by monitoring systems and handling backup and recovery.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support

  • Acts as the main point of contact for IT support for internal employees, offering second and third level technical assistance. Addresses internal staff requests promptly and proactively.
  • Acts as liaison with external customer service desk (citizen-facing) for escalated IT issues, coordinating, track and report internal support, security incident and requests.
  • Track, resolve, report and if needed escalate all internal IT Issues as related to infrastructure and security to the appropriate team, IT services & Cybersecurity Director and / or external vendors.
  • Handles and resolves all support issues within the agreed Service Level Agreement (SLA) with minimal interruptions.
  • Installs or updates hardware, software and operating systems on staff computers.
  • Manage and monitor all enrollments usernames, passwords, and security credentials for staff and reset, as required.
  • Facilitates the onboarding process by providing new employees with necessary hardware and software, and manages the offboarding process by archiving and wiping user equipment in accordance with the policies of the organization
  • Provides after hours remote and on-site support for maintenance and as requested in the case of an emergency.

System Administration

  • Set up and manage CAO s systems
  • MS Azure cloud (IaaS and PaaS); DevOps, MS SQL, environment security
  • Installation of upgrades and new features in the cloud environment
  • Manages and updates onsite switches and routers, firewall, Wi-Fi access points.
  • Configure, monitor and manage cloud-based telephony and call center system.
  • Manages and maintains system policies across various environments and devices.
  • Support the IT Admin in the day-to-day administration and configuration of all Office 365 online features (user and team access control; MS Teams; Exchange (email) SharePoint admin).
  • Monitors and raises system issues with the concerned vendors.
  • Oversees, manages, and enforces system operating policies and procedures.
  • Suggest recommends improvements to keep policies and procedures up to date.
  • Monitors system resource usage, assesses service performance against standards, detects issues, and works with management and vendors to proactively resolve them.
  • Implements enterprise IT solutions according to management directives or project design specifications.
  • Collaborates with IT vendors and internal stakeholders to secure and configure CAO business systems, supporting SaaS solutions.
  • Stays informed about the overall technical direction of the company s IT solutions and security, including software roadmaps, upcoming releases, and new patches or fixes.
  • Keeps detailed Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documentation for all deployed enterprise IT solutions.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to improve productivity, improve efficiencies, leverage automation where possible.

System Maintenance

  • Follows the prescribed service and maintenance schedule to ensure optimal system performance. Ensures backups are ready for swift recovery when needed.
  • Works with the Director, IT & Cybersecurity to review and assess maintenance schedules for both user and enterprise systems.
  • Maintain the organization's security by consistently applying updates from Microsoft and third-party patches.

Security Administration

  • Implements corporate information security and privacy guidelines.
  • Oversees the security posture of both end-user and business systems, using Intune for device management, MFA (multi-factor authentication), and all features of MS Advanced Threat Protection.
  • Promptly addresses all security incidents and threats.

Backup Administration

  • Monitors the backup results provided by external hosting vendors.
  • Performs on-demand backups as needed or requested by stakeholders.
  • Conducts regular tests and checks recovery procedures.

License and IT Asset Administration

  • Manages, oversees, and keeps precise records of enterprise software and subscription licenses, both by user and department.
  • Keeps a log and monitors the assignment and re-assignment of all IT assets, including laptops, mobile devices, monitors, desk risers, and more.

Other

  • Proactively demonstrates CAO s values and champions a commitment to organizational culture of diversity, inclusion and equity.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Director, IT & Cybersecurity

Qualifications, skills and knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with any of the following certifications: Security +, CISSP, ITIL, AZ-500.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a cloud systems administrator, providing intermediate to advanced technical support and proficiency in PowerShell scripting.
  • Minimum 2 years working with VoIP phone systems including configuration and maintenance; Wireless router, switch, and firewall configuration; Microsoft Office 365 suite administration
  • Experience with Azure Active Directory / single-sign-on, MS Dynamics 365 (CRM, ADX Studio, AX), SharePoint
  • Ability to build and maintain solid relationships with business technology stakeholders with solid communication skills.
  • Ability to work outside of business hours on occasional basses according to meet project and business requirements (i.e., tech support during weekends and off hours).
  • Ability to work independently in a team environment.
  • Strong ability to prioritize workload and a demonstrated ability to multi-task.

Working conditions/ environment

We embrace flexibility with a hybrid work model, combining 2 days of remote work and 3 days in the office each week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).
