Your role

We are hiring our second Recruiter for our talent function. As a founding member of the recruiting team, we are seeking a resourceful and strategic Recruiter who is committed to building a workforce comprised of top-tier talent that represent diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. The ideal candidate will have a background with full-desk sourcing and recruiting experience across technical and non-technical positions in a high-growth environment.

Responsibilities will include

Objective #1: In your first 30 days, you will onboard and get up to speed on Ascend, current hiring initiatives, our processes, and our product & market:

  • Develop a deep understanding of Ascend hiring processes and how to market the company & product
  • Meet with hiring stakeholders to calibrate on target profiles, familiarize with the team, and establish a strategy for meeting hiring goals
  • Shadow the Recruiting Lead and hiring managers on candidate interviews, prep, and closure calls before running independently

Objective #2: In your first 60 days, establish a cadence and series of efficient, repeatable, recruiting processes:

  • Conduct initial screens with candidates to understand their search, educate on Ascend’s product and company culture, and evaluate initial fit
  • Drive outbound sourcing efforts, and manage inbound applicant traffic and referrals
  • Facilitate and project manage interview processes, providing a best-in-class candidate experience
  • Iterate on recruiting processes to optimize for hiring velocity, while carrying high technical standard

Objective #3: In your first 90 days, and beyond, you will actively foster the development of the function:

  • Support the creation of recruiting enablement materials by partnering cross-functionally in the development of external facing talent branding content
  • Contribute to the evaluation, selection, and implementation of an applicant tracking system
  • Identify creative sourcing methods and channels to maintain a healthy flow of qualified candidates

You might be a good fit if you are/have

  • 2+ years of experience recruiting and sourcing for technical (Engineering) roles
  • Understanding of recruiting metrics and how to leverage them to influence prioritization, and hiring decisions
  • Track record of filling open positions that have a high hiring bar in a competitive market
  • Experience, and desire, to work as part of a lean team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to self-start, and organize time and priorities effectively
