The Regulatory Affairs Engineering Manager supports with the Regulatory Affairs team in assuring product-related compliance of the company s Heating, Ventilation and Air-conditioning (HVAC) products including Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV) products with current and proposed product-related federal and state regulations for the HVAC industry.
May Include:
- Assure product-related reporting compliance with regulations is completed with due diligence, at proper times
- Develop and implement product-related code and regulatory strategy and vision, ensuring such strategy is aligned with product offering strategies.
- Work with other departmental personnel in obtaining input prior to working with code-body, state regulatory and federal regulatory agencies in commenting and developing code and regulatory requirements
- Work with other departmental personnel to ensure finalized product-related code requirements, state regulatory requirements and federal regulatory regulations which affect our products are properly planned for and addressed, especially on technical issues.
- Assist in development and implementation of departmental policy and procedure, related to product compliance.
- Assist in ensuring adherence to product-related Company Standard Operating Procedures.
- Review and assess Company s change controls with respect to product-related regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and submit reports to senior management, as required.
- Offer regulatory evaluation and opinions on due diligence activities and provide regulatory assessment to management, especially on the technical aspects of such federal regulatory energy (DOE), federal environmental (EPA) or federal labeling (FTC) regulations, building codes requirements (such as ICC and IAPMO), state energy and building code requirements (such as CEC), industry association activities (such as ASHRAE and AHRI)
- Participate in additional projects/activities to support ongoing business needs

Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong regulatory knowledge for the HVAC industry and related products and services
- Capable of comprehending written regulations
- Must have strong analytical and technical writing skills
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to apply good judgment and decision making skills in investigating problems
- Excellent organizational and time and project management skills and aptitude for recognizing and dealing with priorities and meeting project deadlines
- Ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels using strong verbal and written communications skills
- Strong interpersonal and professional relationship management skills with internal and external personnel
- Ability to apply strong work ethics and integrity on the job; results oriented
- Wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
Experience:
- 8+ years total experience in a regulatory affairs role
- 5+ years of experience in regulatory compliance for the HVAC industry with a HVAC industry-related technical and regulatory trade association
Education:
- Bachelor s Degree in Business, Engineering or Law
- Master s Degree strongly preferred
