Our innovation and dedication to excellence drive our success. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced VP of Operations to join our executive team.

Job Summary: VP of Operations will provide strategic leadership and oversight of all operational functions, including manufacturing at all company and contracted locations, regulatory compliance, IT solutions, and supply chain management. The VP of Operations will drive operational excellence, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and ensure alignment with the company's core values. This role requires a visionary leader capable of managing large teams, implementing strategic initiatives, and optimizing overall operational efficiency.

Reporting: CEO

Location: Orange County, CA (on-site)

Compensation: Annual salary up to $170,000.00, based on experience and qualifications, with potential opportunity for a Long Term Incentive Plan.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with company goals and objectives.
  • Provide executive leadership to the operations team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Collaborate with senior management to define and prioritize operational initiatives.
  • Serves on management committees and leads special projects as directed by CEO or CFO.

2. Operational Oversight:

  • Manage operational departments, including manufacturing, purchasing, IT, and customer service.
  • Oversee daily operations across all departments, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance.
  • Implement best practices and continuous improvement methodologies to optimize processes.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

3. Product Development:

  • Participate in new product development activities to facilitate operations planning and ensure successful product production for market launch.
  • Partner with R&D to drive innovation and ensure new products can be manufactured to meet quality and regulatory standards.
  • Manage resources and timelines for product development projects.

4. Regulatory Compliance:

  • Oversee international regulatory filings and ensure compliance with global standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and implement necessary changes.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure timely and accurate submissions.

5. Digital Systems and IT Management:

  • Implement and maintain advanced digital systems (ERP, MES) to streamline operations.
  • Oversee IT infrastructure, ensuring robust data security and system integrity.
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

6. Supply Chain Management:

  • Optimize supply chain logistics to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of raw materials and products.
  • Implement inventory management systems to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with suppliers and vendors.

7. Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the operations team, promoting a high-performance culture. This includes planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and identify opportunities for staff development.
  • Champion the company’s core values and ensure they are integrated into daily operations.
  • Identify training needs and initiate development.
  • Responsible for hiring, interviewing, and training direct reports.
  • Uphold and enforce HR policies and procedures of the company.

8. Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage operational and capital investment budgets, in partnership with CFO, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Drive strategic decision-making and operational improvements.
  • Present operational performance metrics to senior management and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years proven experience as a VP of Operations or in a similar senior operational leadership role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Strong background in manufacturing, preferably within the cosmetics or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Expertise in strategic planning, process optimization, and regulatory compliance.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced understanding of digital systems and IT infrastructure

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently required to sit, stand, and walk.
  • Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
  • Frequently required to utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and use a keyboard.
  • Occasionally required to lift/carry items at least 25 pounds.
  • Minimal local travel.
