OVERVIEW:

Under general supervision, the Accounting Clerk - Flagship Operations, performs daily accounting tasks that supports the financial team. This position is located at the Flagship Campus in West Palm Beach, and reports to the Office of the Chancellor Accounting Department.

BUSINESS CONTRIBUTION:

Accounting Clerk - Flagship Operations is responsible for providing support to the staff at the Flagship campus. The Accounting Clerk - Flagship Operations accomplishes this through:

  • Detail orientation and strong organization skills
  • Excellent analytical and computer skills

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Reconciles invoices and identifies discrepancies
  • Ensures accurate coding and approval on invoices
  • Processes vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and check requests
  • Answers vendor inquiries
  • Maintains up-to-date financial records for expenses
  • Assists bursars by answering questions related to cash payments and Anthology Student
  • Tracks and reconciles records for student organizations
  • Reviews and reconciles vendor statements
  • Issues invoices to external partners, as needed
  • Assists in month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.

The Accounting Clerk - Flagship Operations role is primarily focused on accounting duties. The Accounting Clerk - Flagship Operations provides a heavy degree of interaction with the campus staff. The role requires someone that can manage competing demands and someone that is able to analyze data given to them.

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft programs (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and accounting software and Order processing systems.

Education, Experience, and Training:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent; two or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
